Pilgrim Notes:
if you take the train to Tres Cantos, turn left on exiting the train
station to see your first arrow, and there’s also a supermarket in the
same building (and the Camino looked quite nice walking from Fuencarral,
as seen from the train window). Once you cross over the overpass the
road soon comes to a “T”, turn right and stay right. The arrows fail
here and although there is a GR sign, there’s a conflicting arrow
painted on the side of the bollard.
Colmenar de Viejo: the Camino goes round the church but not near the
hostal nor my pension, I took a pic of the map on the church info sign
to find my way around and I’ll let you know what the accommodation is
like.
Pension is fine: private room with bath down the hall €20, and I’m the
only one in the house. The owner is Andrea and she lives at Avda de La
Libertad #5, just left of Bar Greco. (pension is around the corner).
Ph:91 845 09 90, mobil: 617 655 243. She doesn’t speak English but her
son Carlos does.
