The End of Sri Lanka

Well, it’s not the end of the country, obviously, just my stay here in this beautiful place. Yesterday was a “free” day which consisted of my doing absolutely nothing – a leisurely breakfast, swim in the pool, some sun-bathing, a long nap, a cheesy movie on TV = perfect. And not a single photo to show for it.

Today was “transfer” day. The tour ended down south in the coastal town of Mirissa and everyone had different travel plans for how long they were going to stay afterwards, where, or what timethey had to leave to get to the airport. My flight isn’t until tomorrow but I chose to head back to the capital of Colombo today, just to be a bit closer to the airport, so I shared a taxi with one of the older couples doing the same.

And tomorrow I’m off to the Maldives! I’m joining a liveaboard scuba diving boat called M.V. Theia for a week, followed by 3 nights at a small island resort called Malahini Kuda Bandos. I doubt I’ll have access to the internet during this time (withdrawl pains!) so I probably won’t blog again until December 11th or 12th.

Here’s some internet pics of the boat and resort to whet your appetite:
