An unscheduled rest day. My foot, well heel actually, didn’t miraculously heal overnight despite the magic weeds a fellow peregrino gave me to put on it. I think it might not be any worse so the plan is to tag along in the backpack transport van to the next town and relax for the day.
Myself and about a dozen backpacks arrived at the Albergue/Pension Cantabrico at about 11am. The rooms were sold out but I got first choice in the albergue and the 10€ fee includes sheets & a towel!!! The cleaners were still busy so hid my bunk for a couple of hours reading.

At 1pm I inched over to the grocery store for lunch & dinner supplies and I was pleased to note slight improvement in my foot so resting is working! I briefly contemplated walking tomorrow but one look at the stage map convinced me that wasn’t a good idea. Instead, I’ll take the bus 2 stages ahead to the “big” city of Lugo and spend2 nights in a pensión resting further.
I haven’t shown any pictures of the towns I’ve been staying in as there hasn’t really been much to take a picture of. Pretty much one street villages with 1950’s style buildings. Lugo should be different…
