The sun shone today! Big puffy clouds still hugged Kauai’s mountain tops as we cruised north this morning, but the cliffs of the Na Pali coast were free of the heavy mist that cling to everything yesterday. We headed north to circumnavigate Kauai just so we could view this majestic portion of coast. It’s been made famous in such movies as Jurassic Park, and is only accessible by boat or by foot on the difficult 3-day hiking trail. We cruised forth, back, and forth again so everyone had their fill of the amazing, jagged coastline before rounding the island and heading south to the open ocean.

We now start a series of five days at sea before reaching the Marquesas. Based on today’s ship’s schedule there’ll be plenty to keep one occupied!
