Day 11: At Sea

Another full day at sea as we continue to sail south towards the Society Islands. Not a lot interested me on the ship’s schedule so I did a lap of the ship on the way to coffee – 480 steps just to coffee so about a 1000 steps or so right there.

9am was the final lecture by Linda, the Hawaiian professor. In truth, her husband gave the talk: Mutiny On The Bounty: Navigation From Memory, A Tale of Survival. Very interesting and rather fitting as it was just outside Tahiti that the mutiny occurred.

Right afterwards the ship had a talk for the 600 of us continuing on the next cruise to Sydney; when to change cabins, getting a new cabin key, etc. Unfortunately my next cabin will be on the lowest deck and close to the boarding walkway. Less than ideal. I hope my bid for an upgrade gets accepted tomorrow….

A few more laps of the ship, 2 and 2/3 circuits makes a mile. Then lunch, a documentary, and lots of reading before meeting the Solos at 6pm.
