Today is the end of my first cruise! We’re spending the day in Tahiti and I’ve nothing planned. I originally was going to rent a car a drive the island but my experience in Kauai kinda put me off that. Then I thought I might just grab a tour from one of the touts at the pier but I’d just done an island tour on Moorea, didn’t bring my bathing suit, and didn’t want to be cooped up on another tour. I could have stayed onboard but the Tahitian officials were fumigating the ship at 10am and didn’t want to around sniffing that. So in the end I just wandered around town, checking the local sights. I hunted down WiFi as it’s expensive and slow on the ship. After my first bar, 1/2 beer and no service I found good WiFi at the second bar. I’m now struggling to drink my 2nd beer as I don’t really like beer but it’s a brewery after all, so here’s my day so far in photos:

It’s a really warm day in town so I’ll head back to the ship now with all the arriving passengers and move into my new cabin. For some reason everyone I know who’s carrying on to Sydney has had to change cabins for the 2nd half of the cruise – a pain to pack up / unpack and even worse to reorient yourself around the ship! I’m not thrilled with my new location, right near the boarding gangway, but it’s apparently a full cruise so I’m not sure there’s anything I can do about it. I’ll try!
