Days 17 & 18: At Sea

Two more mellow days at sea without much to report. The usual routine of reading & relaxing with lots of good food and socializing with friends. My cold is still in the developmental stage so it’s not too intrusive but luckily there’s nothing much going on. Many other Soloists have it too.

I did some walking on Deck 7 today, that’s the covered deck where you can walk all the way around the ship, 8 laps = 3 miles. I walked 3 laps this morning then got so tired I had a little nap on a deck chair. I’m thinking I might have taken a NyQuil instead of a DayQuil! I ended up doing the whole 8 laps, but over the course of the day. My watch says 5.6 miles in all – it’s a long way to the buffet! My ankle was fine but some twinges in my hip. No rhyme or reason as to which will hurt.

It was my birthday today. I received a note from the General Manager and a little birthday cake at dinner. My friends Aspen, Chad, and I dined at the fancy French restaurant tonight. No picture of my cake but here’s one of the escargot:
