Day 26: At Sea

10am marks the daily briefing from the captain re: our position, weather, tomorrow’s ETA. Particularly interesting today was that the ocean is warmer than the air (29° vs. 24°) and that we’re sailing in waters 20,300’ deep! We’ve been advised not to drop our car keys overboard, ha ha. Today’s a windy day with a small swell so it’s cool and a bit bumpy outside. Luckily I’m rarely sitting on deck as there’s plenty of indoor activities to keep me occupied.

I didn’t attend the Fruit Carving demonstration but enjoyed the results at lunch in the buffet:

A special treat today was a matinee concert by the ship’s band featuring the remarkable saxophonist. It was better than many of the headline performances!

On the body front: I ‘exercised’ by walking 3 sets of 3 laps around the ship today, roughly tied to mealtimes, LOL, for a total of 6.4 miles. I don’t notice my ankle at all anymore besides some stiffness which must mean whatever tore has fixed itself. My leg, aka hip, aka adductor muscles allowed me to walk today but not without some strain. I’m trying different shoes every couple of days to see which are least aggravating to my gait, obviously with some success.

Reading, trivia, and listening to music. Typical, enjoyable day at sea!
