Yesterday was an educational day, today was a fun day! 20 of the Facebook group signed up for an 8-hour snorkeling trip out of the local marina.
A trio of minibuses picked us up at the cruise ship to take us around to the next harbor to board a very nice and large boat.

During our instructional briefing I learned that they also offer scuba diving in addition to snorkeling! I hadn’t planned on diving but I did bring my credit card so…

We stopped at 2 different places to snorkel and I pretty much was the only one diving though 2 others did do a “intro to scuba” (you paddle around with gear on while the instructor hangs on). It was fairly good diving for such a busy site, still clouds and clouds of brightly colored fish, obviously more the further away from the snorkel area we got.

We then steamed to another location where I was told I’d be doing a Drift Dive – the boat would drop off the divemaster and I and the current was supplied to take us all the way to where the boat was going to anchor. Great in theory but there was no current at depth so I had to flutter kick quite forcefully for a long ways. Not much time to enjoy the little fishies. The snorkelers were all enjoying a huge lunch buffet by the time I returned so I grabbed a plate and dig in.

We made a 3rd stop at another snorkeling site but 2/3 of us were too chilled to get back in so we lounged in the sun and wind for an hour and finally pulled up anchor at 4pm and returned to the dock.
We begged an hour to see the bazaar and do a little souvenir shopping (got my magnet!) and we finally returned to the ship at 5:45pm, well after dark and after most of my patience had worn out :-). All in all it was a super day.
