No wind to speak of and a lovely little cloud blocking the sun meant walking the deck at sunrise(-ish)! 13.5 laps = 3 miles which is a good start to the day. I’m wandering the ship all day long so I’m going for total miles, not bursts 🙂
Next: brekkie, then I decided to tackle some stairs. I’d already climbed 15 flights during my laps but decided to go up and down all the stairs on the ship: another 30 up. Then to the gym for 30 minutes on the bicycle. I am NOT going to regret my dessert tonight!
Today, we’ll cross the equator (probably sometime around midnight) but at 11:30a we had a Neptune Party on deck, initiating all the pollywogs into the Having Crossed The Equator Club. King Neptune gave the captain a big gold key, then all the pollywogs had to kiss an octopus (real, btw, tho thoroughly dead), line up along the edge of the pool for their “baptism”. King Neptune ordered the wogs to be splashed with milk (?), then raw eggs, tomatoes, chocolate (how long is this going to go on?). Finally Neptune was happy and all these messy people jumped into the pool. Yuck.

Back to my regular routine after: lunch, read, stroll. Did a bit of hand laundry; as we’re heading south and my room’s on the right side I have the hot afternoon sun to dry my clothes. Except when there’s a sudden downpour – that cleared the pool deck and had me jogging back to my room to check on my clothes!
