Well, I managed to stay up until 12:30am local time last night! That was only 10:30p St Helena time but still late for me 🙂 I didn’t emerge from my room until noon when I had to go to reception to pay for my late checkout, and then again for my Christmas brunch by the pool at 2pm.

The food, it’s presentation, and the service in this budget hotel is amazing. Salad, wine, and dessert for $16. I’m trying hard to spend the 500 rand (or $30) I exchanged last week but it’s proving difficult with such a favorable exchange rate. I think I’ll be buying more chocolate at the airport….
I’m also lucky enough to be flying first class back to Atlanta. There’s no way I could sit in a regular seat for an almost 17 hour flight (one of the world’s longest) and the price from Johannesburg – Palm Springs was absurdly reasonable; I think I’ll be wining and dining very well for the next 24 hours. Merry Christmas to me! I’ll be back on the treadmill…..in January 😉

And that’s it, that was my Mediterranean/Indian Ocean/Southern Atlantic vacation. I’ll be chilling (literally I think) in Palm Springs until February when I’m off again on my next adventure.
Happy New Year everyone!!!!
