It was a chilly 38°F when this intrepid adventuress stepped out to explore Ronda. As luck would have it today is a fiesta so absolutely everything is shut which made for very quiet streets – just the odd tourist like me. I wandered down to the Puente Nuevo, “new” being built in 1793 after the old one collapsed. Quite an engineering feat, I think.

I’m sorry but I don’t know the history of Ronda, easily Google-able for those inclined, but it’s definitely a tourist attraction. I heard German, French, English and Japanese (and Spanish, of course) during my wanders.

Ah, but I was wrong, nothing can stop commerce. By 11a I was back on the Main Street and the souvenir shops were opening; as they were warm and rather tasteful I didn’t mind in the least doing a little browsing.

I bought a salad for a picnic lunch in my room (getting tired of all the french fries every meal seems to come with) and rested for the afternoon as this is a “rest day”, lol.
Back out in the evening to catch the sunset and some pics of the city at dusk before the cold had me scurrying back indoors.
