A day off! Originally I thought, “What? A day on a tour and nothing planned?” But what a joy not to have to get up on a schedule, breakfast on a schedule, leave on a schedule; especially after a late night last night and little sleep the night before.

I slept in till 8am, had some breakfast, did some laundry, wandered the Medina. Then most of us met up for lunch.

This involved following Saaid to the port where we stopped at a fish vendor to each buy a bag of fresh seafood (I choose shrimp, a giant prawn, and red snapper) then walked back through the Medina to a slew of little stands that cooked up whatever you brought them, served with fries or a salad. It was very tasty, very messy, and a lot of fun.

With the rest of the day free I wandered out of the walled Medina to the beach to check it out (pretty windy and hazy), shopped some more, then relaxed the afternoon away.
