Day 6: Isle of Wight

Not sure why I didn’t end the blog yesterday as today is just a travel day: IOW to Heathrow, where I’ll spend the night in an airport hotel and fly out tomorrow morning.

Anywhoo…. my departure involved a bus ride from Newport to Ryde, then the ferry to Portsmouth. From there a 3 hour bus to Heathrow.

Ryde’s pier dates back to 1814 and it’s a 1/2 mile walk out to the ferry dock

Hardly noteworthy but pleased with my airport hotel: Renaissance London Heathrow – excellent tea-making facilities !
