A rest / transfer day today. I’ve finished my bit of the “end” of the Coast Path and have to take a train, then bus up to the north coast of the peninsula to the usual “start” in Minehead, Somerset.
Firstly though, I had a nice chat at breakfast with another American also walking the Coast Path! He started in Lyme Regis and is walking east to Poole. He’s the 2nd North American party I’ve met; Kent and I bumped into a couple from Alberta back on Day 2.
Its just a 7 minute walk from my BnB to the train station but of course that was exactly when it decided to rain! So I finally had a chance to test my rain gear, so far so good.

Minehead’s much larger than I expected. It’s a seaside town with a huge bay and a working passenger/tourist steam train. The Main Street was full of interesting shops and restaurants but the rain started again so I just headed along the bay for the 20 minute walk to my hotel.

I’m staying in an old pub again, which was doing a cracking business on this wet Tuesday afternoon. The weather doesn’t look great for the next week but here’s hoping….
