A later start again today: a leisurely breakfast timed well with the finish of the rain showers (fingers crossed). From the hotel it was a half mile walk along the Heddon River to rejoin the Path, then a very steep climb up to round the point at the sea. Gusty winds had me gripping the bushes for stability going around the corners.

Sheer cliffs, millions of rocks, mud and sheep poop = I hardly lifted my eyes from the trail! It was a dry but very grey day with cool temps again but as the scenery was ever-changing my mood stayed positive. (Note: I’ve adjusted the lighting in almost all the photos!)
At 4.75m I finally found a small rock to perch on for a bite of lunch made from leftover bits of my Full English breakfast. It’s a good thing I’m walking every day as I’ve been taking advantage of the 2nd “B” at my BnB’s!
After a short rest I was off to tackle Great Hangman, the highest point of the whole South West Coast Path. Switchbacks! And a decent grade going up! Finally!! Then a descent down past Little Hangman and into Combe Martin.
