Good but strenuous day today. Although the total #s might not seem like much it was pretty consistently steep ups & downs for the first 8 miles.

From early showers and a grey start the weather turned out to be stunning. Same story of cold breeze along the cliffs but this was actually welcome with all the exertion required!

There were a fair few walkers out, especially near Morte Point and on into Woolacombe. I decided to push on a few more miles to shorten tomorrow’s stage so I tackled Woolacombe Beach but took the alternative high route with its wonderful views rather than slogging 2.2 miles thru the sand dunes below.

I finished at the far end of the beach at Putsborough where Sophie, my host for the next two nights, picked me up to bring me back to her BnB in Braunton. She’ll feed me dinner and drop me off where I finished in the morning.
I have my own little attached cottage that is adorable. Cream Team was served in the garden, and my clothes are in the wash. I may never leave…..
