I started today by taking a bus to Bideford, where I had gotten to yesterday on the bicycle. The Quayside was a lovely wide riverside promenade that ran until the edge of town where it devolved into a road through a housing estate and further still into a narrow no-man’s land stuck between waterfront and the next-back properties.

At 3 miles in I reached the muddy, industrial edge of Appledore, then turned a corner and there was town. I wasn’t clever enough to take pictures of the interesting waterfront but I did of the warren of little lanes and colorful homes:

The remaining 4 miles was a little bit coastal, a lot of grass crossing the peninsula that’s the Northam Burrows, and then a touch of the holiday town that’s my destination: Westward Ho!
