I started off for a short walk south on the Path in the direction of Hayle. It was a beautiful sunny morning which I’m afraid is the calm before the storm due tomorrow.
The path hugged the coast around Portminster Beach then into a lovely green woodland. So peaceful with the background sound of chirping birds and waves rolling on the beach. I love these little pockets of green as it’s so not the desert beiges I live with.

Somehow I ended up on another trail that petered out at a sharp, quick rise up to….

This is an active railroad with trains passing every 10 mins or so so I scurried along until I saw a way thru the bushes. I scrambled down the embankment only to be faced with a very undignified exit with me jumping down over a fence Tarzan-style. I incurred a few little abrasions and I think my right hand landed in some stinging nettles but I made it out! Unfortunately I didn’t stick the landing and I re-tweaked my bad ankle! 😬 That curtailed my walk so I finished with a grocery shopping trip at the nearby market to tide me over for the next two days, and a bus back to my aerie.
