How many more brilliant days can there be? The good weather is set to last until next weekend; I am appreciating every day.
I started the day with a short bus ride around the bay to Marazion. From here it was a gentle walk through fields at the edge of low cliffs with views of St Michael’s Mount over my right shoulder.

The miles clicked along quickly with the easy footing though once again the vegetation is wrecking havoc with the path.

At 4 miles I found the perfect perch overlooking Bessy’s Cove so enjoyed my breakfast roll with a lovely view.

I reached Praa Sands at 5.7 miles and decided it was time for a beachside coffee break. Being a Saturday there were lots of people about, even swimming and kayaking (again in wetsuits). Cold water is no deterrent!

After I stuck to the higher inland route when possible for the wider views and easy walking. Soon I was back in mining country:

The terrain became more strenuous with rises & falls but thankfully not crazy steep. Most of the boulders were at the cliff edge, with climbers out to enjoy them.

Getting closer to Porthleven the Path gets squeezed between fields and cliffs; just a narrow sliver of dried mud between fencing. Fortunately it was such a beautiful day otherwise I might have been frustrated at having to circle three sides of a field 🙄

Turning a corner and the town of Porthleven appeared. Marked by outer and inner harbors and lots of cafes and bars it was pleasantly busy but not crowded. A cheery Saturday afternoon. I had lunch at a restaurant recommended by a walker I chatted with on trail, then caught the bus inland up to my BnB in Helston.
