Falmouth is a vibrant town, a great place for a rest day. It was pretty empty at 10am but the street slowly filled with locals and tourists alike. As mentioned before, Main Street goes on forever and has lots of eclectic shops and so many enticing restaurants: Ukrainian, vegetarian, tapas, Nepalese, coffeehouses, and of course pasties! People were lining up at the Cornish Bakery for pasties! I took a picnic lunch back to my room and chilled the rest of the afternoon.

Falmouth is one of the largest harbors in England, apparently it was Sir Walter Raleigh in the early 1600’s who said “this would make a good port!” and thus a port was made, more or less. It handles commercial, leisure, tourist and transport traffic; and tomorrow, me! I need to take 2 ferries first thing to cross over to start my next stage of the Path in Place.
