New day, new perspective. After yesterday’s unpleasant walk I thought I’d need a mental health day but the sun shining through my window at 5:30am not only woke me up but put a positive spin on things. I’m good to keep walking.
I had my luggage to deal with first. My knee still twinges so I’m continuing to use the luggage transfer service, but as I hadn’t booked it for today I took the early bus into Plymouth to drop it off at my hotel.

After brekkie at Mickey D’s, I took a bus, then a ferry across to Cremyll, to walk backwards along the path to almost where I stopped yesterday (just 1.4 miles short).
The ferry dock is on the edge of the Mt Edgcumbe Grade 1 listed House & Gardens. Comprising of 885 acres, pretty much the whole peninsula, is run as a country park and is free.

It was a beautiful, easy walk, mainly through woodland with glimpses of ocean and the occasional purple rhododendron. Nice, wide, dry(!) track – happy to amble along.

At almost 4 miles I reached the twin villages of Kingsand and Cawsands. Tiny and picturesque and I bumped into Dave, who first met several days ago on the ferry from Falmouth and again the next day.

After a quick Cornish pasty lunch it was back into the forest for a mile on an old road; half paved, half packed gravel, all pleasant and tranquil. protected.
The second 1.5 miles was out into the sun on a continually narrowing trail out to Rame Head.

Rounding the corner I was presented with the coastline I walked along yesterday. Another mile and I was back on the road and at the bus stop waiting for the bus to take me back to Cremyll.

I had time before the next ferry for my daily ice cream and another stroll through the formal gardens of Mt Edgcumbe park. A very enjoyable day.
