SWCP Day 55: Torcross > Dartmouth

Grey and drizzling.  That was the morning’s forecast, drying up after 11a. With high hopes I took the 9:30a bus out of Dartmouth to the near end of Torcross beach and started out with fingers crossed it wouldn’t be miserable.

Much of the first half of the stage the path shadowed the A-road more so than the coast. Like a snake the Path would swerve beside, below, above, and even on the road, so lots of fields and hedgerows and only distant views of the sea.

The sun finally appeared around 12:30pm when I was just 1.5 miles from Dartmouth. It was a lovely afternoon which I spent popping into some of the many shops. I was to take a rest day tomorrow but I might walk instead as the following day’s forecast is dreadful…
