SE Asia Day 0: Disney!

This year’s birthday trip started with an amazing day at Disney thanks to Mike & Penny. We left home super early so as to enter the park near opening time and were fortunate to zip right up to many of the popular rides. Not having visited in ~10 years it was great to have experienced tour guides!

A special birthday badge prompted total strangers to wish me Happy Birthday all day long!
Old favorites like the Haunted Mansion and Mr Toad’s ride
And totally new “lands” and rides like Star Wars
Xmas-themed parade complete with Santa following in his sleigh
The park is magical at night, especially with all the twinkling Christmas lights

What a fun day! We went on almost every roller coaster-y ride there was (I’m the ‘almost’, couldn’t manage the last one 🤢) and stayed to see the fireworks show. Fortunately our hotel was steps from the park as we put in ~ 27k steps today!!

Tomorrow I’m off to LAX and starting my SE Asia adventure: touring Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia!
