SE Asia Day 22: Hanoi

Local readings actually say 277 but I like this emoji

Not a great day to be outside so I limited myself to just a walk around the nearby lake and a bit of window shopping before checking out at 12.

The new tour officially started at 2:30pm at the new hotel. Lots of introductions as there’s 15 of us plus the guide, My. I think this is going to be a full-on tour: we had 10 mins before we were off on our first activity. We had a cyclocab tour of the Old Town, then met our chef/guide for a walk through a food market to buy ingredients for our cooking class. A 10 minute drive (which took >30 minutes) to the restaurant where we learned to make chicken pho, banana flower salad, spring rolls and coconut coffee! The lesson took a couple of hours so many of us were fading near the end; me as I was up late last night, others as they just arrived today.

I think this blog will be photo heavy and lite on words as free time in the future may be limited! Everyone is super nice, and pretty much the same mix as the last tour: several Canadians, a few Brits, a Swiss, a German, a Moroccan, a Russian, and 2 Americans. I think I’m the oldest, though Boris might be a tie, but that’s okay, we’re all gelling already.
